Tom Horton has been involved on a full time basis in various aspects of the visual arts field for the last 30 years. His background is primarily in painting and sculpture. After having established a successful career as a glass artist, designer and graphic artist, he has returned to his roots in the fine arts, creating pieces for corporate and private collections and site specific pieces for homes and company installations. His classical training coupled with his unique sense of design and composition classify his work as both traditional and modern. He maintains a strong belief in the basics and the discipline of daily drawing and continued study of the arts as well as the science, math and physics of the creation of art pieces.

Tom is often sought after for his extensive and varied design experience as well as his understanding of a wide variety of materials and installation solutions. He is currently retained by other art glass studios, graphics designers, architects and sign companies as a designer and design consultant. As a "ghost designer" many of his creations are well known and enjoyed daily by populations world wide.

Tom Horton’s work is now being installed in homes and commercial locations throughout the Big Bear Valley: stained, etched and painted glass as well as his fine art, paintings, murals and sculptures. You will often see him out painting and drawing on location throughout the valley and neighboring deserts, as well as at frequent painting, drawing and glass-working demonstrations here in the Village at Big Bear Lake.

While much of the work is done on modern machines, each of our pieces are ‘handmade’ in every sense of the term, from the selection of each piece of wood, to milling, assembly, to the hand rubbing of finishes.  For more information about our hand made furniture pieces or purchasing information, please email or call our Gallery Store at 909-878-3556.
