Pine Needle Sculptures and Baskets By Linda Bennett
Bringing Home A Walk In The Woods
Making Pine needle sculptures gives another meaning to a walk in the woods. When I am wandering in the forest behind my house I like to find the base and structure for my sculptures. Then I find the real treasure - the pine needles. Sweeping up your yard and going through the pile of needles isn't the best way. You need long strong needles and the best way to get them is one at a time.
For me there is magic in making. There are no mistakes in pine needle scuplture. You just keep going forward - no looking back. If you go backward you are likely to get stuck. I guess that's my metaphor for life.
If I am not making baskets or beading, you might find me playing my Dulcimer.
